Here are a few basic expectations we have, so you know what we’re anticipating from our volunteers:

The role of the volunteer is to assist our trainers and students as needed:
Assist with room set-up and registration. Assist with tasks as needed; such as calling banquet staff, handing out materials, making copies, unpacking materials, etc.
Be willing to partner coach if needed. Also, be willing to walk around during partner coaching and help to keep an “ear” out for what we can do better for the class. Occasionally serve as the client for a coaching skill demonstration.
Be prepared to be supportive and encouraging to the students throughout the weekend. Some students are not as comfortable approaching trainers, and they will likely go to volunteers with questions, concerns, etc. We rely on you to be the iPEC representative in such cases. Always remember to be a coach.
We take pride in our students’ experience and this starts with facilitators and volunteers. Please be mindful to be present during the weekend. This means shutting off electronics (such as phones, laptops, etc.) while in the training room, and being mindful to keep side conversations to a minimum as this can be disruptive to the class.
Assist with room clean up and packing up on Sunday evening.

A few more details...
- It is not necessary for you to dress up. Business casual attire is fine.
- Should any student approach you with questions, please redirect them to their student support representative.
- iPEC has a strict “no solicitation” policy. Trainers, MSCs, and volunteers are not permitted to self-promote or solicit students by handing out business cards, promoting their coaching practice, etc.
- In addition, volunteers are not permitted to coach students or instruct any course material.
